The market we visited in Hoi A is similar to what I remembered from the Philippines. There is the fruit and vegetable market….
There is a refreshing variety of delicious fruit available. Note the apples have stickers on them. They are imported and pricy compared to local fruit.
And the meat market….which always looks might brighter in pictures.
Vendors are also peddling many other goods, much of it the same from one stall to the next.
Hoi An is a very popular tourist destination.
Yesterday I was looking for a few token gifts to bring back. In one place I was asked 75,000 VND for a fan while another stall had a price of 30,000 VND for fans. I may need to do some bargaining.
My daughter-in-law and I treated ourselves to massages. We left our shoes outside and were given slip-on shoes to wear. Inside we were seated and offered tea while our feet were soaked in a bowl of water with rose petals and lime slices. Before we left we were treated to a fresh half of mango and a delicious fruit yogurt in a glass jar. A ride to and from the spa was provided and I wondered if they do this to prevent no-shows. I admit the massage was very painful, probably a sign that I should have one more often than once in ten years.
