The Day I Found Love in My Heart and Got Married
The day I found love in my heart....
I was going to be an independent woman with a career. Having a family was sort of on the back burner.
This afternoon I listened to something Jordan Peterson said and it confirmed what I think I sensed back when I was single. A woman who has not started a family by age 30 only has a 50% average, in many countries, of ever becoming a mother.
Two things happened to change my outlook. One, I heard a song about a woman who had achieved everything she wanted in life, but looked longingly at the mother and child, a woman who fought with her husband in the morning and made love with the same man at night. The other thing was a comment my pastor made. He said that we will have to choose a partner from among people we know.
You see, I had this idea that some day I would "meet" the man of my dreams, and I had already met him. I had to find the love in my heart.
Once I looked inside at what I really wanted and around me to who was there, I found my partner. I was already getting close to my mid-twenties and I knew that my chances of finding someone were diminishing with each passing year. Many of the good men were already taken.
I am so happy I made the choice I did back then.
